An officer of a computer user group, non-profit or educational organization? Do you run a small business that could benefit by learning how to get your message across to the public better? If so, consider attending the free Media Workshop to be held in Las Vegas on Saturday & Sunday, April 29-30. Organized by Ken Fermoyle, veteran writer/editor and creator of the popular Ken's Korner computer column, the Workshop is designed to promote better communications, both among members and externally, for community organizations. It emphasizes fundamentals inherent to both print and online publishing. It will also explore the challenges, problems and benefits that the technologies of today-and of tomorrow-present for such groups and for those who prepare their newsletters, websites, flyers, publicity and recruiting material or other media efforts. Panel will be made up of group editors & webmasters. Each will have 4 to 5 minutes to discuss briefly a topic that he/she feels is important to having a successful newsletter or website. Then the session will be open for audience participation Sunday, April 30 1:00 pm - Check In 1:15 pm. - Presentation: Publicity & Community Involvement Projects 1:15 pm - Break 1:45 pm - Roundtable: Open-ended general discussion of group media issues 4:00 pm - Library closes; those who wish may continue discussions at local coffee shops or restaurants.
