In Part 1 of "Bad Things Can Happen to Your Computer", the different types of malware and virus were discussed. Then the ratings from bad to superior for the best free ware apps were explored. Copies of the slides in PDF form were Emailed to all members. Be sure to review the material before the February meeting.

I will present Part 2 at the February 20th meeting. Part 2 will be a discussion of malware detection and removal programs that are not free. You pay for the software and pay an annual fee for the updating data. Ratings and performance for the two types of PC Security programs, Stand-a-lone & Suits, will be reviewed. You can pay a lot for a poor preforming app(less than 3.0) and pay less for a Very Good (4.0) to a Superior(5.0) product. Are you using a dud?

Remember that a program can be good in detecting malware but poor in removing the bad stuff. After attending Part 1 and Part 2 you should be able to decide which is best for you, free or pay or a combination of the two.

Tip of the Month (TOM)
Please bring a TOM to the next meeting. Have you found a good utility, program, or service that you thing is great? Can you warn us of a dud that does not work or is very hard to use. Pass on your warning and praises.
