Lee Holt from Collier's Photo in Fayetteville treated us to an excellent presentation about digital cameras during our August meeting. Lee's knowledge and experience served to keep the questions and answers flowing briskly, and I received numerous positive comments from club members regarding how much they learned from his presentation. Lee encourages you to call if you have any questions about digital photography, or if you'd like to have him print some complimentary photos to show off their new high-tech digital printer. Collier's phone number is 442-6264.

Our September program will be given by past president Joe Schork. Joe's presentation will give us insight into what the latest version of PaintShop Pro software can do, and his presentation will wind down our three-month series related to digital photography and PC-based image manipulation software. Be sure and attend to hear about this excellent software package, as well as the discount pricing available to club members.

As promised, we also discussed the subject of club meeting times and dates during the August meeting. Club members filled out voting clips to share their opinions regarding the most convenient meeting day and time for them personally. I'd like to thank everyone present for being so proactive, and I would also like to thank the club members who shared their preferences via e-mail.

Out of the 51 specific meeting days and/or times requested, your fellow club members voted as follows:

18 votes for Saturday 1:00 PM
    18 votes for Saturday morning
    10 votes for Monday evening
    5 votes for Tuesday evening

A few suggestions for other days and/or times trickled in one-by- one, but the bulk of responses were for Saturday or for weekday evenings early in the week. I received several verbal and written responses expressing concern about evening meetings due to the difficulty of driving after dark, a reminder that the Jones Center closes at 9:00 PM, and other helpful and informative comments. Thanks once again to all who responded.

I will plan to discuss these results with the club officers at our next board meeting, but Saturday is the overwhelming favorite day for club meetings, and since there is not a big outcry by club members to change the meeting day, I'm guessing that most members will want to simply leave things the way they are. If you have any additional feedback to share, please don't hesitate to do so.

See you at the September 21 meeting!
