TIP

Ever have the launching freeze upon bootup? Not the same as cursor freezing. With launching freeze the cursor moves freely but nothing happens upon clicking. Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up Task Manager doesn't work either. The only solution is to turn off power and back on. When it starts up, it recommends checking the hard drive and everytime I tried it, it found errors but didn't display what they were. After trying many things to correct it, like deactivating programs at startup with msconfig, I noticed I was getting in what turned out to be a bad habit of shutting down without turning off the programs that were minimized, but still running. This should be alright since Windows shuts them down during the shutdown process. Don't you believe it. When I started to close all minimized programs, the freezing stopped! Interesting, eh?
