Would you like to remove files from your startup but the names are very frightening and you haven't got the slightest idea what they do and which ones are critical to your operation?

There is a solution provided by Paul Collins, aka Packman, that may assist you at :

http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm

If you download his material, you will have a little HTML file that gives a nice breakdown of the names of files you may find referenced in MSCONFIG and what their function is.

Working from this list you may approach taking files out of your startup directory with a bit more assurance than just randomly removing them.

No guarantees however.
