Is your Windows 95 Desktop Full of Icons? Having trouble finding the icon you want? If so, you need the little shareware program called Trayicon.zip.

For programs that don't automatically place their icons in the system tray, that area on the right side of the taskbar, Trayicon will do it for you and keep you from needing to create a shortcut and adding to the clutter on your desktop.

Installation is easy. Just unzip Trayicon.zip to an appropriate folder and run Trayicon.exe. A dialog box will pop up asking for the details of the program you want to create a tray icon for; i.e., program name, path, and icon path and filename you want to use. You can use ANY icon file you wish. That's all there is to it. To keep from running Trayicon.exe each time a tray icon is desired, you may want to create a shortcut to it. Yes, it'll be on your desktop, but only once, not for each program. Also, note that Trayicon works equally well with DOS programs, unless special drivers are required, then you'll need DOS mode.

And the best part: it's on the BBS and, being shareware, it's not free, but almost: $5.00. You can also find it on the Net at:
http://www.zdnet.com and search for Trayicon. Try it, you'll like it.
