At our April meeting, I was asked some questions about Partition Magic and DataKeeper that I was unprepared to answer, so I will attempt to answer those that I can remember.

One question about DataKeeper was whether it could use a writable or re-writable CD as the backup destination. As I was unable to get that option during my demonstration, after the meeting I checked the Users guide and it gives the options of: any fixed hard disk, network drive, JAZ, LS 120, or ZIP drive, but not to a CD.

Version 8.0 of Partition Magic is the latest version listed on the Power Quest web site.

Partition Magic Version 8.0 ($69.95), Drive Copy Version 4.0 ($49.95), and Drive Image 2002 ($69.95) are all available at the PowerQuest webstore under Personal Product; however, by using the User Group Relations secure website you can get Drive Image 2002 for $35 and have all of the capabilities of Drive Copy plus backup capabilities to any fixed hard disk, network drive, JAZ, LS 120, ZIP drive, or CD-R/W. (Check the editor's note at the end of my article in the April 2003 newsletter for more details).
